As part of all construction projects, Building Control Applications must be made and signed off for the project to be considered complete.
At J P Elliott, we work on either the client, or the contractor's behalf to produce all relevant information, documentation and certification required for building control approval.
This typically includes two stages of approval; the first stage is the production of building control detailed drawings, which J P Elliott will provide. Once approved, the second stage then includes the on-site inspections and correspondence with building control. This is something that can be carried out by either the contractor on site or as part of our Project management services, J P Elliott will provide this service.
Once appointed to carry out the Building Control production, our duties will include;
-
Production of building regulations compliant drawings, including any necessary plans, elevations, details, sections, notes and documentation all relevant to the appropriate building standards and regulations.
-
Obtaining a quotation for the services of an approved building inspector or local authority building control for the client’s fee reference.
-
Submitting the building regulations package for plan assessment only.
-
Liaising with both building control and the client in order to achieve compliance with building regulations while adhering to the client brief.
